Ongoing Support

A business book is a long-lived asset. Our relationship with you does not end on launch day. We stay available for reprints, second editions, speaking deals, and every stage of leveraging the book into real business results.

What ongoing support covers

Reprints and print runs

When you need a print run for a conference, a corporate order, or a fresh batch of author copies, we handle it. Print Trail direct fulfilment is available for any author who wants it.

Updated editions

Business books age. When your data, case studies, or frameworks need refreshing, we produce second editions, updated covers, and new ISBNs without starting the whole project from scratch.

Speaking and media opportunities

We keep an eye out for podcast, conference, and media opportunities and make introductions when the fit is right. Our authors feed each other as often as we do.

Business development support

Advice on how to use the book in your sales process, marketing funnel, and hiring pipeline. The book is a tool; we help you get the most out of it.

Translations and foreign editions

If your market moves overseas, we can help with translation, foreign-edition covers, and foreign-retailer distribution.

Your next book

Many of our authors write more than one book. When you are ready, we are too.

Publishing relationships should outlast launch week

Most publishers disappear the day after your book is published. That is a strange way to treat a business asset that is supposed to work for years. We think the best stage of the relationship is the one that starts on launch day and runs quietly for a decade afterwards.

Every Quartz Press author has a standing invitation to pick up the phone, drop us a line, or bring us in on the next project. That is not a premium tier. That is how we do business.

What ongoing support looks like in practice

Most ongoing support requests fall into a few predictable categories. The most common is the conference bulk order — you get booked to speak, the event wants three hundred author-signed copies at the back of the room, and you need them delivered two weeks from now. We handle the reprint, the packing, and the freight to the venue, and every author copy is priced at or near cost. Print Trail fulfilment makes this especially easy if you are selling books direct from your own site.

The second most common is the second-edition refresh. A business book written in 2021 is probably starting to feel dated by 2026: the case studies have aged, the statistics have moved, the regulatory landscape has shifted, and the frameworks that felt fresh three years ago now need to cite the new version of the thinking. A second edition is typically three to six weeks of work — light revision, new cover treatment, a fresh ISBN, and a second soft launch. It is a fraction of the cost of the original book and often produces more inbound interest than the first launch.

The third category is business-development support. How do you put the book into a sales process? How do you use it in the hiring pipeline? Which podcast should you say yes to and which should you decline? How do you turn a bulk order into a retainer? These are the questions our authors actually ask us six months after launch, and they are the questions that separate a book that works from a book that sits quietly on Amazon. Ongoing support is where those conversations happen.

Ongoing support FAQs

Is ongoing support a monthly retainer?

No. There is no monthly fee, no retainer, and no hours you need to use before they expire. Most ongoing support work is quoted as needed — a reprint, a second edition, a translation — and priced at our standard rates for that kind of work. For Quartz Press authors, advice and introductions are free; hands-on production work is billed on the job.

How quickly can you turn around a reprint?

For a standard POD reprint through Amazon KDP or IngramSpark, copies ship within two to five business days. For a short-run offset print (typically 500 to 5,000 copies for an event or corporate order) we plan six to eight weeks including print, finishing, and freight. Rush jobs are usually possible if the event is non-negotiable, with a premium for expediting.

Can I work with Quartz Press on a second book?

Yes, and many of our authors do. Returning authors get a faster kickoff because the voice work is already done — we know how you sound on the page, we know which frameworks you default to, and the publishing mechanics are already wired up. Book two usually runs a month or two faster than book one.
